One of my favorite things about raising poodles at Galavanting Poodles is simply watching them interact. Whether it’s a group of puppies tumbling over each other in play, an older dog patiently teaching boundaries, or a bold little pup determined to chase a leaf blowing in the wind, I’m always fascinated by their unique ways of experiencing the world. Even within the same litter, no two puppies are exactly alike. Some are adventurous and bold, others more thoughtful and reserved. Some have an unstoppable drive to work and learn, while others are happiest curled up in a lap.
Before my eyes open, I can feel his breath on my face. His nose pressed as close as he dared without touching my face. He senses I’m awake. My eyes are still closed, but he knows the rhythm of my breathing as though it were his own. I smile. Slowly, I open my eyes, squinting from the bright sun pouring in through my window. It’s barely 7 am, but the Alaska sun is high in the sky.
Chulyen is a Galavanting Poodle who is a working service poodle. He has been on an extraordinary journey with his person, Evie. From the moment he went home with her, it was clear this pairing had something special.
