Kluane is a blue Standard Poodle. The newest addition to the Galavanting Poodles pack and already exceeding expectations.
Time pushes us through puppyhood just a little too fast.
Last year at this time, I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of little baby Kluane to my pack. Videos and camera phone pictures of my little growing jelly roll of a puppy flooded my inbox messages.
Klu had big puppy eyes, an extra round puppy belly, and mischief in her expression that told me life with her was going to be anything but usual.
Fast forward one quick year, and I see a photo like this one, taken at a local Alaska dog show a few weeks ago. I pause a moment to soak it in. My baby girl, barely one year old, and that puppy face is gone. At some point, clearly when I wasn't paying attention, Kluane decided to shed her puppy cuteness and adopt her fierce expression, carrying along with it, a dignity peculiar until a Poodle herself.
I miss my puppy! But I love my diva-girl!
